SRAGEN, KRJOGJA.com – The Sragen Regency Government (Pemkab) has prepared a 5-hectare land in Perno Hamlet, Jatitengah Village, Sukodono District, for a new public cemetery (TPU).The land area is projected to replace two old TPUs, namely Manding and Syarikat Islam (SI), which are already full.Head of the Department of Housing and Settlement Areas (Disperkim), Raden Suparwoto told reporters on Tuesday (7/12) that the condition of the two TPUs in Sragen is currently almost full.So the district government prepares a new land for the location of a public cemetery."We have purchased a 5 hectare land in Perno Hamlet and the certificate is in the name of the Sragen Regency Government.The plan will be prepared for a new TPU," he said.According to Woto, the provision of new land for the cemetery is based on the high population growth in Sragen and the location of the old TPU is almost full."It is impossible to rely solely on the 2 existing TPUs.Moreover, population growth is getting higher," he explained.The newly prepared land, continued Woto, is still raw in the form of mountains.It is planned that in 2022 it will be flattened using the cut and fill methodwith a budget of around IDR 2.5 billion."We are targeting this new burial ground to be used in 2023 after we have leveled it and later a fence will be built around it," he said.Later, the new TPU, which is estimated to be able to accommodate up to 10 thousand graves, will be free for anyone to use.Every citizen of Sragen may be buried in that location with compensation according to the Regional Regulation, which is Rp. 150 thousand per 10 years.“There are no booking fees and so on.Funeral is free, you only need to pay a retribution of IDR 150 thousand for 10 years," he added.(Sam)Read the Print edition of Sovereignty of the People online todayDon't miss news about Jogja every week.
