Without PFAS-modified fluorosilicone oil achieving mass production, domestic new materials overcome export compliance challenges

1. Global control over fluorinated chemicals has tightened, and traditional fluorosilicone oil exports have been hindered
Recently, environmental protection agencies in multiple countries have continuously tightened the control standards for PFAS (perfluoroalkyl substances). Starting from August 2026, the North American port will implement seizure and inspection for fluorosilicone oil products containing trace amounts of PFAS during the synthesis process. Traditional conventional fluorosilicone oil is prone to residual trace amounts of perfluoro additives during synthesis, and its core properties such as high-temperature resistance and oil resistance are highly dependent on these substances. For a long time, the industry has struggled to achieve a balance between environmental compliance and material performance. A large number of industrial and automotive fluorosilicone oil export orders are facing delivery risks, and the pressure on the export channel has been significantly increased.

2. Formula continuously iterated, new generation of PFAS-free fluorosilicone oil has been put into mass production
After a full year of molecular structure optimization and repeated pilot production and debugging, the domestic research and development team completed the industrial production of PFAS-free modified fluorosilicone oil. The new product eliminates perfluoro additives and relies on the re-arrangement process of the fluorosilicone chain segment to stably maintain stable performance in the -40°C to 250°C wide temperature range. Its ability to resist fuel, acid, and alkali corrosion is on par with traditional high-end fluorosilicone oil, completely eliminating the risk of PFAS residue. Third-party test reports all meet the environmental protection entry standards of Europe and the United States.

3. The automotive and industrial sectors have been the first to trial use, and the domestic new product demonstrates excellent cost performance
At present, this modified fluorosilicone oil has entered the batch sampling stage for North American automotive component manufacturers, mainly used for engine sealing gaskets and industrial anti-corrosion sealing components. Compared with similar compliant products from overseas, the comprehensive production cost of the domestic new product has been reduced by about 20%, and the supply cycle is more stable. It can effectively alleviate the supply chain pressure caused by the price increase and longer delivery period of high-end materials from overseas.

4. The green transformation of the industry has accelerated, and environmentally friendly fluorosilicone oil has become the mainstream in research and development
This production landing marks the official start of the green formula transformation in the fluorosilicone oil industry. In the future, the research and development focus of the industry will generally shift to low-volatile, low-residue, and biodegradable modified fluorosilicone oil. Environmental compliance will become a hard threshold for product market entry. Low-end high-pollution general fluorosilicone oil will gradually be eliminated from the market, and the industry will accelerate its development towards refinement and compliance.
