IOTA 202 high-hydrogen silicone oil expands applications in multiple fields, and organic silicone surface treatment materials have a new option

1. The core performance of IOTA 202 high-hydrogen silicone oil is stable, and it is suitable for processing various substrates
IOTA 202 high-hydrogen silicone oil is a colorless transparent methyl high-hydrogen silicone oil with a hydrogen content of ≥1.55%, with a viscosity range of 15-40 mm²/s at 25℃. It has high-activity Si-H bonds and can be cross-linked at low temperatures to form a dense hydrophobic protective film on various substrate surfaces. This product has excellent weather resistance and is widely used for waterproof and moisture-proof treatment of materials such as fabrics, glass, ceramics, leather, cement, and marble. It can also be used as a cross-linking raw material for silicone rubber systems and is suitable for industrial scenarios such as building material anti-fouling and powder surface hydrophobic modification.

2. Downstream demand continues to be released, and the market space for waterproofing additives expands
With the upgrading of the building materials, textile, and powder material industries, the demand for long-lasting hydrophobic, anti-fouling, and anti-moisture additives has steadily increased. IOTA 202, with its stable film-forming ability, has been applied in scenarios such as stone protection, ceramic anti-fouling, and fabric waterproof finishing. After the film formation, the substrate can retain透气性 (breathability), and will not completely seal the pores, balancing the waterproof effect with the original characteristics of the substrate, and solving the problems of traditional waterproof agents blocking pores and feeling hard.

3. Can IOTA 202 high-hydrogen silicone oil be used directly with water?
Answer: No, it cannot be directly mixed with water. This product is an oil-based silicone oil and is not soluble in water. Directly adding water will cause stratification and floating oil, and it cannot be evenly dispersed. If it needs to be used in a water-based system, it is necessary to premix it into a hydrogen-containing silicone oil emulsion before use.

4. Does a higher hydrogen content always mean better waterproofing effect?
Answer: Not necessarily. IOTA 202 high-hydrogen silicone oil has strong activity and is more suitable for use as a cross-linking agent and for waterproofing of hard substrates; if it is a thin fabric or other flexible substrates, too high activity can easily cause the film layer to be brittle. The core of selection lies in the type of substrate, film thickness, and usage process. Matching according to needs can achieve the best effect.
