The market volume and price of methyl silicone oil have both risen, and the industry has entered a new stage of high-quality development. 
Recently, the domestic methyl silicone oil market has shown a strong recovery trend, with prices continuously rising, and the supply of spot goods being tight. The overall profit level of the industry has rapidly recovered, officially ending the previous sluggish period and entering a new stage of high-quality development. 


1.The supply-demand situation has improved and prices have continued to rise.
Entering the second quarter of 2026, the market price of methyl silicone oil has shown a significant upward trend. As of the beginning of April, the mainstream quotations have reached 16,800 - 18,200 yuan per ton, with an increase of over 20% compared to the beginning of the year. During some periods, the daily increase was as high as 1,000 yuan per ton. The rise in prices is attributed to the proactive optimization of the supply side by the industry and the steady recovery of the demand side. Upstream enterprises have effectively reduced market supply through self-discipline measures such as production cuts and restrictions, and in combination with the increased demand for essential purchases by the downstream, the supply-demand balance has gradually been established, driving prices to continue to strengthen. 

2. Cost support is solid, and profit space has been restored
The production cost of methyl silicone oil mainly relies on raw materials such as metallic silicon and methanol. Currently, the price of metallic silicon is fluctuating at a low level and has not risen significantly along with the increase in energy prices. Domestic enterprises have a significant cost advantage compared to overseas counterparts. At the same time, the loss situation caused by the previous low-price competition in the industry has been reversed under the dual effects of cost support and price recovery, and the profit space of enterprises has continued to recover, and the overall operating conditions of the industry have improved. 

3. Downstream demand is diverse, with significant growth in emerging sectors
The demand in traditional sectors remains stable, with industries such as textiles, leather, and mechanical lubrication having a continuous need for methyl silicone oil. Emerging sectors have become the core driving force for growth. In the photovoltaic industry, the demand for methyl silicone oil as a packaging cross-linking agent has been growing steadily; in the fields of new energy vehicle battery packs sealing and data center liquid cooling, the demand for high-temperature-resistant and insulating methyl silicone oil has soared, directly driving a significant increase in upstream consumption volume year-on-year. Additionally, the expansion of applications in personal care and medical dressings has further opened up market space. 

4. Strengthened industry self-discipline, development model becomes rational
Since November 2025, the organic silicon industry has held multiple consecutive meetings, focusing on profit recovery and orderly development, and abandoning the past "internal competition" model of low-price competition. Upstream and downstream enterprises have coordinated to increase prices, control production volume and maintain prices. Industry consensus has gradually formed, and market competition has shifted from price wars to competition based on technology, quality and service, laying the foundation for the long-term healthy development of the industry. Looking ahead, with continuous supply optimization and upgrading of demand structure, the methyl silicone oil industry is expected to maintain a stable and positive trend.
